Posture problems such as tech neck and rounded shoulders come from holding the same position for hours. Chiropractic care helps by restoring motion to stiff joints, while simple workstation changes and short exercise breaks retrain the muscles that hold you up. Lasting change comes from both.
What is tech neck?
Tech neck is neck and upper back strain from looking down at phones, tablets and laptops. As your head moves forward, the muscles at the back of your neck and shoulders work harder to hold it up. Over time this can lead to stiffness, aching between the shoulder blades and headaches.
Signs your posture is causing pain
- Neck or upper back pain that builds through the workday
- Rounded shoulders and a head that sits forward of your body
- Tightness across the chest and front of the shoulders
- Lower back stiffness after long drives or meetings
How we help
Dr. Thomas assesses how you sit, stand and move, then checks the joints and muscles that are working too hard or not enough. Care may include gentle adjustments for stiff areas, mobility work for the chest and upper back, and a short list of exercises that fit into your day.
