New patients

New patients: what to expect

Your first visit at Cascade Chiropractic is relaxed, clear and focused on you. Here is exactly how it works.

STEP 1

Book

Call 330-727-8146 or send a request online. We will confirm a time that works for you.

STEP 2

Exam and answers

Dr. Thomas reviews your history, examines how you move and explains what he finds.

STEP 3

Your plan

You leave with a clear plan and, when appropriate, your first gentle adjustment.

Your first chiropractic visit at Cascade Chiropractic takes about an hour and includes a health history, a physical and spinal exam, a plain-language explanation of what Dr. Thomas finds, and a care plan. When care is a good fit, your first adjustment can often happen the same day.

Before your visit

  • Complete your new patient forms online in ChiroHD before your visit, so your time is spent with Dr. Thomas, not on paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.
  • Bring a photo ID and a list of medications.
  • Bring any recent X-ray or MRI reports related to your pain.
  • Think about when your pain started, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to.

During your first visit

1. Health history

Dr. Thomas asks about your symptoms, past injuries, health conditions, work and daily activities. This helps him understand the whole picture.

2. Exam

The exam checks posture, range of motion, joint movement, muscle tension and, when needed, strength, reflexes and sensation. If something suggests you need imaging or a medical referral, you will be told right away.

3. Explanation and plan

You will hear what Dr. Thomas found in plain language, what he recommends, how many visits he expects and what you can do at home. You can ask anything.

4. First treatment

When care is appropriate and you are comfortable, your first gentle adjustment can happen the same day. Technique and pressure are matched to your comfort.

After your visit

Some people feel looser right away. Others notice mild soreness for a day, similar to after a workout. Drink water, keep moving gently and use the stretches Dr. Thomas recommends. Our free stretch library makes it easy to follow along at home.

What your first visit includes

Your $125 new patient visit takes about an hour. It includes a detailed case history, where Dr. Thomas listens to your health concerns, asks questions to understand what you are going through and sets goals for care; a physical exam to make sure chiropractic is right for you; an orthopedic exam to rule out reasons not to adjust and to get to know your body; and your first adjustment to see how your body responds. Education is part of every step.

Pricing and payment

Consultations are free. A new patient visit is $125 and regular visits are $50. Cascade Chiropractic is a cash-pay practice, so there are no insurance forms or surprise bills (see pricing without insurance). We accept cash, credit and debit cards, digital wallets, and HSA and FSA cards.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Please give at least 4 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows have a $25 fee the first time and $50 after that.

House calls

House calls are available by appointment, depending on circumstances, for an additional fee. Call or text 330-727-8146 to ask.

FAQ

New patient questions

How much is the first visit?

Consultations are free. A new patient visit is $125 and takes about an hour: case history, physical and orthopedic exam, and your first adjustment. Regular visits are $50.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 4 hours' notice. Late cancellations and no-shows are $25 the first time and $50 after that.

How long is the first chiropractic visit?

Plan for about an hour for your first visit. That allows time for your health history, exam, explanation and, when appropriate, your first adjustment. Follow-up visits are shorter.

What should I wear to my chiropractic appointment?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, such as athletic wear or a T-shirt and pants with some stretch. Avoid belts, dresses and heavy jewelry if possible.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring a photo ID, a list of medications, and any recent imaging reports or records related to your pain.

Do I fill out paperwork at the office?

No. New patient forms are completed online in ChiroHD before your visit, so there is no need to arrive early for paperwork.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with Cascade Chiropractic without a referral.

Will I be adjusted on the first visit?

Often yes, when your exam shows care is a good fit and you are comfortable. Dr. Thomas always explains his findings and plan first.
