Chiropractic care for seniors uses gentle, low-force techniques to ease stiffness and help older adults move more comfortably. At Cascade Chiropractic, Dr. Thomas uses methods such as the Activator Method, Thompson Drop-Table and Torque Release Technique, which deliver adjustments with less force than traditional hands-on techniques.
Why seniors choose gentle chiropractic
- Stiffness in the back, neck and hips that makes daily tasks harder
- Discomfort getting in and out of the car, chairs or bed
- Wanting to stay active with walking, golf, gardening and grandkids
- Looking for a drug-free option to add to their overall care
Gentle techniques we use
Activator Method. A small handheld instrument delivers a quick, light impulse to a specific spot, with no twisting or cracking.
Thompson Drop-Table. Sections of the table drop a fraction of an inch as the adjustment is given, so less force is needed.
Torque Release Technique (TRT). A handheld instrument delivers a precise, low-force adjustment.

Safety first
Every senior patient starts with a careful health history and exam. Please tell Dr. Thomas about osteoporosis, joint replacements, blood thinners, recent falls or any other health conditions, so care can be adapted or a referral made if needed.
Staying active at home
- Take short walks most days.
- Try gentle moves such as cat-cow and pelvic tilts if they are comfortable.
- Keep floors clear and use night lights to lower fall risk.
Seek medical care first for
- Pain after a fall
- New weakness, numbness or trouble walking
- Back pain with fever, weight loss or a history of cancer
This page is for general education and is not a diagnosis. Every patient receives an individual exam before care begins.
